James undertakes all types of wine-related work. He has vast experience as a wine & drinks trainer and educator and currently works as wine animator for a large Corporate Events company fronting tastings, quizzes and gourmet dinners throughout the UK. He also offers wine expertise and support to a large drinks company, their staff & customers, in the choice of appropriate wines & lists and wine sales development.
With almost a quarter of a century’s full time experience within the Wine Trade, much of it spent travelling through the wine-making regions of Europe, James possesses dual nationality (British & French) & has his own Fine Wine Shop in Stone, Staffordshire.
He works throughout the UK as a trainer for drinks staff in top restaurants, bars & hotels and as a specialist consultant for food & wine matching & Restaurant Wine List selection. He is a Judge for the prestigious International Wine Challenge & for the English Vineyards Association & has vast experience of animating & speaking at themed Wine Tastings & Dinners throughout the UK. He writes a monthly wine column for the North Staffordshire Magazine.
James won the Award of “UK Wine Hero 2007”. This is a National Title awarded by “Wine & Spirit” Magazine to the person most able to explain, enthuse & create interest in discovering more about wine. As a prize, James travelled to South Australia in Autumn 2007 staying and working at one of the very top wine estates in the Adelaide Hills, - and then on to New Zealand for a tour of all the winemaking regions. In Autumn 2008 he travelled to the Napa Valley.
